. . .hopelessly adrift in the eyes of the ghost again. . .
I wasn't going to post anything tonight. E and I were about to go watch another Law and Order rerun. But fuck a Law and Order rerun. Seriously. Last week before I left for Chicago on a biz trip I got a completely rad belated birthday gift. My 3-year-old neighbor Elijah made me 3 overfrosted sugar cookies and handed them to me with a sealed envelope. The contents of the envelope were really bulky. I opened it to find a crumpled and folded piece of paper on which Elijah had drawn a red crayon rectangle full of scribbles. I asked him what it was and he said,"A broken TV. Happy Birthday!" Anyway, Law and Order isn't a rerun, so I'm multitasking at the moment.
I did 6x1200 meters at 3:45-3:55 with 3min recovery today. It was really not that hard. E is running again and I think that's great. She's healthy and soon she'll be running very strong. Just you watch. Also, last weekend's race went well. After getting back from a final night of drinking in Chicago, I rested a bit on Saturday night and raced Sunday morn. I ran 15:59 on a pretty tough 5k course in SF. That was good for 22nd place. I really think I've got another 20sec+ in me right now but everything will need to fall into place for that. We'll see.
This weekend I will miss the anti-war march in sf. I'm not happy about that, but I didn't want to change my previous race plans. We have our running team camp up near Whiskeytown Lake and then we race on Sunday. It's a 25-mile relay around the lake. We won last year but we're losing this year. There's a team showing up that can out perform us to a man. Whatever, I'm just excited that I'm heading up with friends/teammates Ryan & Rachel on a small plane piloted by Ryan's dad. That's so going to rock. We don't have to drive I-5!
Lastly, don't front on Kanye West. I did when he released that first album because I hate chipmunk-sounding sped up vocal samples. But _Late Registration_ is a really good album. He's really witty and not a knucklehead like Jigga or NaS can be. In barely related news, my man DJ 3D recently picked up some Pioneer CD decks. I can't wait to play with those!
That's it for tonight.
